Coming Together to Survive into the Future

By stepping away from mainland politics.  

Focusing on Hawai'i.  

Avoiding global chaos.  

Creating sovereignty alternatives.      

 Hawai'i became a state on March 18, 1959, following a referendum in which 93% of voters approved statehood. Most of the voters were not native Hawaiian. Hawai'i was considered economically beneficial as a gateway to eastern markets.  Some mainlanders were against statehood because they saw the mixed races and integrated cultures as a threat to white supremacy. Others supported statehood because Hawai'i could be held up to the world as a model of America's increasing multicultural and racial picture of equality. 

The American government allowed the statehood referendum to go forward because of the Asian business opportunities, and the military benefits.  

Creating a mixed race, multicultural state as a model for America and the world went in the opposite direction of much of America's values. This was a time period when Afro-Americans were being water-hosed in the streets for wanting simple liberties only allowed privileged whites.     Hawai'i has multiracial tolerance but lacks multiracial respect.  In order to survive into the future, we need to come together as one people.    

The Apology Resolution (Law 103-150) was approved by both houses of the United States Congress in 1993 and signed by President Bill Clinton. It "acknowledges that the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawai'i occurred with the active participants of agents and citizens of the United States."

After Captian Cook, the islands were treated as a gateway for ships crossing the Pacific Ocean to Asia. Prior to statehood the islands were actually recognized as a profitable business gateway to the east by way of establishing close relationships with foreign born Hawiian residents who could speak their native language and represent American business interests. 

Hawai'i has been viewed and used as a gateway because that is the essenial nature of the islands. Geographically unique because of our locations and geologically unique because of the island's eighty-million-year volcanic formation of the Emperor-Hawai'i Seamount.  

Hawai'i has a greater purpose........ it's higher gateway nature at the heart of the matter for survival of the islands and the world. A spiritual awakening. A sacred warrior mission.
