All religions and spiritual practices, including martial arts and dances such as hula, are reverential. I respect all religions but tend to avoid those that claim to be the "only" way because I do not believe in an "only way." All spiritual and religious practices are different expressions of the same thing.
I know something about saints, gurus, spiritual teachers, kahunas, ministers, preachers and priests, and honour and respect their life paths, but I only pray and talk to one God. I prefer talking and have come to realize that I must look and listen for answers. The more I maintain God consciousness or awarness, the more answeres I recieve and the happier and more accepting I am of myself, my life and of others.
Some say we manafest answers through prayer as if that proves there is not a connection to a higher power. For me, these type of answers seem more disconnected from "self." For instance there are thoughts we have that are based on thinking and there are thoughts we have that seem to come into us, as if arriving from some other dimension as with epiphanies. These are the thoughts and the type of answer I strive for the most.
Also, it seems natural that human beings seek answers and comfort through connections outside of this worldly reality. Something inside of us knows that this is our purpose.
